Orientation
I have a new RN who owns a permanent FTE and she is scheduled for orientation Saturday and Sunday nights. Can she still come for orientation? as she would be fulfilling her regular FTE?

Re: Orientation
Yes.The orientation should proceed. The Collective Agreement between UNA and the employers continues to apply. If the employer does not honour the terms and conditions set out in the Collective Agreement then it will be a violation and we can grieve. The employee has a start date and a letter of hire that entitles them to a number of shifts in a shift cycle. If the employer tells an employee not to report for work and refuses to pay an employee as per their letter of hire then this may be considered to be one or all of the following: termination without just cause, unnecessary layoff, and/or an illegal lockout.
