DESW Exempt Employees

Our AHS managers have been explicitly told that they will NOT be filling designated essential shifts for LPNs/HCAs as they are RNs even though they are not in the bargaining unit. Only exempt employees who are licensed as LPNs will be filling essential services shifts.

This is incorrect right?? They are currently sharing this information with the staff.

Hi Nadine,

That seems very odd and is really not something we have the right to interfere with. A fully licensed RN Manager/NUEE should be able to perform the scope of an LPN/HCA with the right orientation.

I would recommend reaching out to the AUPE Chapter Chair and give them the heads up.
